Why can i parents respect my feelings?

OK my parents always tell me to do stuff and when i ask why, they either give a sucky reason or none at all. Yet i have to do it for them because they want me to. Well My mom wants to carpool with this lady she knows who goes to the same tennis place as me, same day, and same time. Well they wanna carpool because both I and her kid go...i went over this already. Yet i dont really know the kid and i dont wanna carpool for that reason...your supposed to carpool with people you know...yet my mom wants me to go and she is just being annoying about it... why cant she just accept it and respect my feelings like i do to her. Isn't that the best way it should work... i know that she is in charge of me because shes my mom...but shouldnt a family respect each others feelings?
