Can you go blind from piercing your cartilage?

I was really excited to get my cartilage pierced soon. But a couple of days ago, my friend told me that she knows someone who went blind from getting her cartilage pierced. Apparently right after they stuck it in, she couldn't see anything. And now I'm rethinking it.... Does anyone know anything about blindness from cartilage piercings? Thankss.
